The g/mol, and the observed optical rotation

The mass of the final product was 3.941g. The calculated
concentration was 0.03806 g/mol, and the observed optical rotation was  –1.875. Compared to the literature results,
the calculation for the group was highly incorrect. This is due to the steam
distillation procedure going wrong, as the flask that had the concentration was
set too high on the variac, which allowed the mixture to spike up and go into
the condenser. The two enantiomers of limonene, D-limonene, and L-limonene both
have different aromas because the enantiomers have two different shapes. Despite
sharing the same formula, and the same connectives, the different shape of the
enantiomers gives different properties that result in different odors.
