There are a total of 41 million immigrants in the US at the moment and about 10 million immigrants in california. In this whole essay, I will be explaining what happens in each of the waves of immigration in the US. There are a total of 4 waves. But some of these waves came in either smaller numbers or bigger numbers and I will include the amount that came for each wave. So before the first wave, Many many people came to The United States which was before 1790. These people that came here before us were the Native Americans, ancestors, vikings, and the Europeans. The reason why they came here was because they wanted religious and political freedom. The experiences they had when they first arrived was all the the free space they had that they can landscape for thousands of years. They came over the Bering Straits which is located near Russia. But the first group of people that first set foot on the Northern American grounds were the Native Americans, and Vikings were next to set foot on the land of North America. Then one hundred years later, Europeans came to the United States. They migrated together. Now the first wave of the immigration. It started in the 1790s to the 1820s in the early years of the republicans. The immigrations in this first wave was light. About 6 thousand came each year on an average base. But a war that occured in 1812 slowed now the immigration. It was the war between the United States and the Britains. The immigrants the slowly stopped coming were people from the French, English, Scots, Scots-Irish, Germans, Dutch, Spanish and Puritans. These groups of people came for a variety of reasons in the year of 1790-1820s. The reasons were because of religious, political, and economic reasons. In the beginning of the second wave, more immigrants came and possibly a lot more than the first wave. The reasoning was that they wanted a better place to live. These people were from Asian and the Europeans. The number of total immigrants that came to the US blew up the number of population big time, over 15 million immigrants came during this wave which occured in the 1820s to the 1880s. But the United States went from 13 million to 63 million people in 1830s to 1890s. Another set of immigrants has came to the US in this third wave. Maybe a lot more than the second wave, It was about 87 percent of Europe who came. Some of these immigrants that came to the United States were the the northern side of Europe. That was only 7 percent that came from that side, the other 80 percent of immigrants that came were from southern and eastern side of Europe. Another group of people from a different place set foot in the US which were the Irish Catholics. The reason why they came was because of the potato famine which occurred in 1847 and it cut the population in half in Ireland. The Germans came because they wanted to take over the farm lands or to brew the industry. The Scandinavians came to get an opportunity to work in small farms. The chinese came to the west side of the United States because of poverty and war. The fourth wave of US immigration takes place from the 1965 to present time. During this phase, many many many people came to the US. About 30 million people migrated to the US. The people who came to the US during this wave were the people from Latin America which is down in the Southern area and the other immigrants were from Asia. The reason why they came was because of many job opportunities I believe. When they got here, They experienced all they land they had for a lot of things that they wanted to do, like maybe have a farm there growing their own foods and etc. I don’t think these immigrants changed america by a lot because because there are a total of 43.3  million immigrants and the total of population of the US is 321.4 million so that’s only 13.5 percent. So we still have a whole lot of actual US citizens who are in the right place. Before 1790 and 1st WaveLots of people have came to the United States before 1790. This first wave happened in the early 1790. They came many years before we were here. Native Americans, ancestors, vikings, and the Europeans. But the first group of people that came were the Native Americans. The main reason why they came is for religious/political freedom. When they came here, they first experienced the land so that they can cultivate the land as their own. The other reason why they came was because America had lots of free space that the people can landscape it for thousands of years. They came over from the Bering Straits which is located near Russia. A small number of vikings came after during the year 1000. Then a couple hundred years later, the European migration began. The first wave of the United States immigration occurred from 1790-1820In the early years of the republic, immigration was light, about six thousand people a year on average bases. The war that occurred in 1812 has slowed down the immigration. The war was between the United States and Britain. The immigration that has been slowed down had people from French, English, Scots, Scots-Irish, Germans, Dutch, Spanish and Puritans.  These groups of Immigrants came for a variety of religious, political, and economic reasons in the year 1790-1820. 2nd WaveIn 1820-1880 was the beginning of the second wave and like who were the people who came to the United States, the reason why they came and the experiences they had when they arrived. The first group of people who came to the United States in the second wave were the Asians and the europeans. These immigrants came for a better place to live because it would be better for them to come to the US. When they got here, the population when up big time. These were a lot of immigrants that came. The total of immigrants were 15.3 million people. The United States went from 13 million to 63 million between the 1830s to the 1890s. 3rd WaveWhat the third wave was about is that the other set of immigrants came in the year of 1880 to 1930. These immigrants that came to the United States were from the northern side of Europe which and it had about 87 percent of immigrants from Europe. The 80 percent of immigrants came from southern and eastern side of Europe. The irish catholics came because the Potato Famine in 1847 that cut the population in half in Ireland. The Germans came because they wanted to take over the farms or brewing industry. The Scandinavians came to get an opportunity to work in small farms. The chinese came to the west side of the United States because of poverty and war. 4th WaveThe fourth wave of US immigration takes place from the 1965 to present time. During this phase, many many many people came to the US. About 30 million people migrated to the US.
