To overcome a tough situation, you must outlast and overcome the very thing—that trigger, sent to set you off or take you out.  With every burdensome setback, intentionally push back, with everything you got while being led by the Holy Spirit.  That’s the secret to overcoming and outlasting pain.  Not complaining about your test.  God doesn’t tempt those whom He loves.  The devil does.  When the trails of life come baring hurdles and roadblocks, this is the time God is patiently waiting to see if you have what it takes to remain happy in the face of facing your greatest fear.

True purpose cancels out fear which births mediocrity.  That’s why you cannot settle for another year of averageness and continuously miss the move of God.  What are you waiting for?  Drop your anchor and establish your position with Christ! Why feast on pain from your trial when you can feast on God’s Word?  You’ll never know how much you’ve outgrown your current environment or what you’re conditioned to birth until you allow God to impregnate you with purpose.   Even as Christians, we tend to get carried away with our pain, tuning out God’s Word or the words from those God has sent to help us, like a spiritual midwife, like Eli’s daughter-in-law, Phinehas’s wife, who couldn’t stand to hear or enjoy the good news of birthing a son because she was too consumed with hearing the tragic news of both her husband and father-in-law’s death and how the covenant chest of God was captured by the Philistines (1 Samuel 4:19).  Jesus!  I can only imagine being so consumed with both labor pain and sorrowful news that I know longer have the will to live and see the full manifestation of such a joyous occasion—the birth of a new legacy.  Instead, Eli’s daughter-in-law chose to remain in a place of pain—discomfort—literally and figuratively all the while ignoring the move of God.  Don’t become so overwhelmed by your trial that you self-medicate from the intoxication of grief and loss that you ignore God’s faithfulness and miss your greater.

Don’t become so overwhelmed by your trial that you self-medicate from the intoxication of grief and loss that you ignore God’s faithfulness and miss your greater.

It’s time you put God’s fruitful Words into action, so you can operate at a higher frequency.  God allows certain trials to transpire so you can spiritually grow in Him.  Over the years, I’ve suffered from test anxiety leaving me to feel inadequate, fearful and unsuccessful at times.  What’s worst is when you’ve done everything in your power to ensure your success.  Right?  You’ve prayed, fast, and believed God like crazy.  And, yet, God still allowed the test of life to break you beyond measures.  The cost of your brokenness has caused you to open your arms to God.  A part of growing spiritually is passing your test or possibly be broken to the point where you learn to praise God even in the midst of the storm.  But wouldn’t it ease your mind if God sent some type of warning sign that you’re next in line for a major test so you could adequately prepare. Think about it. That would be nice!  But that’s not the way God works.  As opposed to giving us a head’s up, He expects you to commit to His will wholeheartedly as you stand still, showcasing patience, all while demonstrating total trust as He shows up to make things right.

Abraham’s faith was tested tremendously in Genesis 22 when he was instructed by an angel to sacrifice his son, Isaac, on Mount Moriah and present him as a sacrificial human offering to God.   Often, your test is an instrument used to position you in life for greater purpose.  When God stretches you, He doesn’t test you with something that has no value.   He often tests you—fairly— with the thing that you love the most.  That’s why He weakens you to a point as to where you have no choice but to drop your anchor and fully depend on Him and His grace.  For 2 Corinthians 12:9 eagerly reminds you that God’s grace is sufficient.  So, even when your heart is broken into a million little pieces and you think you’re never going to heal, God comes to your rescue with open arms.

Never judging…

Never turning you away…

Never whispering about you behind your back…

As a matter of fact, God is beckoning you to draw closer to Him.  Even as you break under pressure, that’s the moment God steps in ready to refine you as a women after God’s own heart.  He expects you to transform your life and fully lower your anchor and completely depend on Him.  Can’t you hear it? Heaven, joyfully resounding in delight, as God equips you for kingdom influence and impact even as He uses a character flaw, a limitation, or an ordinary skill set to see if you truly love Him by placing your insecurity on public display.  See, that very imperfection or ordinary skill set, which poses a problem, God refines through tests and challenges.  Subsequently, the pain you’re feeling is stretching you because your gifting and anointing are needed in an area where God’s love for you will super exceed what you’ve come to enjoy as normal.  Your shift isn’t going to take place on a whlem, it’s going to manifest by God’s power and desire, which is providing supernatural favor and provision that will later come to bless others.

Every idol I placed before God, refusing to revolt against, caused a supernatural postponement.  It ultimately blocked me from freely interacting with the Holy Spirit causing a rhythmic delay in both realms.  So, I ask, “What idols are you placing ahead of God causing a spiritual delay in your life?”

The more you live for Him, the more He’ll speak to your heart causing you to change.  You’ll shed those dead things that block you from living your best life: insecurity, hurt, rejection, self-doubt, loneliness, shame, guilt, and unforgiveness.  I encourage you to keep living for God no matter how many twists and turns you encounter along the way because you’re worthy of all the kingdom promises He has for you.

The more you live for Him, the more He’ll speak to your heart causing you to change.

No matter where you are in life right now, God will grace you to overcome the magnitude of your test.  He’s waiting for you to understand that you can overcome the severity of your test because He is strong and with His sustaining power you can overcome anything.  Why?  Because He is right beside you as you sit for your test lifting you up, cheering you on, and giving you strength to finish strong.   Just keep in mind, no matter how emotionally challenging your test may present itself, God is always on time as you trust Him to help coach you along the way.  As you actively commune with Him, His power and love give you strength.   If the truth is told, God has graciously kept you.  As always, God sees the bigger picture even when you can’t see the purpose of your exam.

To Outlast the Pain, and birth purpose, try and authentic praise.  Authentic praise and worship are two communication tools that will effectively change the course of your life to birth forth your miracle.  And the Lord knew, I needed a supernatural manifestation after going through a difficult season—a spiritual test—in Atlanta as a married woman in my mid-twenties. Some people might attempt to refute the facts of your life if they weren’t up close bearing witness to your ordeal.  But if you’ve been through the right type of hardship, you need no further explanation describing the highs and lows as you fight back countless tears, heartbreak or frustrations.  As you rest in Him, know that He will not and cannot fail you.  As I write these words with the intention to encourage you, I say with a spirit-filled heart—don’t give up.

Don’t give up on Him…

Don’t give up on you…

Don’t give up on your marriage if it’s worth saving…

Don’t give up on your children…

Eventually, everything you’ve gone through will come full circle.  And as always, remember that His timing is perfect and the purity of your praise evokes a compassion within the core of His heart where He urgently runs to your rescue.

No questions asked…

No explanation needed…

Just like me, some of you have gone through a season or seasons of built up frustrations as you eagerly seek the purpose behind the pain.  I’ve gone through a period in my life where the drama and trauma played out publicly and privately.  Those types of seasons caused me to seek what I called redemptive grace.  The harder the test, the more I craved the comfort of my Savior.  My season of financial and emotional brokenness caused me to depend more on Him and less of myself.  See, this deep disconnection with the Father indeed proved to be one of many bumpy rides I would face over a course of five long years.  It’s never God’s intent to shame you into transformation, but let’s be clear…God seeks for you to follow through with the promises you make Him.  Sometimes as Christians, it’s difficult to follow through with God’s blueprint.  Therefore, we find ourselves only seeking God when we are broken into a million little pieces.  And right there my sister in Christ, is what I’ve come to understand—God seeks a permanent lifestyle change not just a fleeting change at heart.

Some of you have gone through a stressful period of trying to clear your name, collecting all the little-broken pieces that are scattered all over the place from a marriage that surprisingly went wrong or a sudden loss of a love one.  Whatever the case may be, it’s an excellent opportunity to allow God to be God. Obviously, trying to overcome the pressures of this world is a monumental fight, but the battle isn’t impossible to win.  For every struggle you’ve gone through like stretching on the job, finding yourself in relationship after relationship never giving yourself adequate time to heal, or fighting one demonic spiritual principality after another is just another divine sign that God is equipping you with even larger faith arming you to carry out His will.  No matter where your little-broken pieces came from it’s now forcing you to crave the Savior like you desire your favorite ice cream on a hot summer day.  Come one…you know what I’m talking about.  If you’re anything like me, you won’t stop until you’re eagerly sprinting down the aisle way of your favorite supermarket hoping your favorite brand of ice cream is in stock.  And that’s the same excitement God wants to see from you.  Got it?  Just know that God is enthusiastically waiting on you to encounter endless joy and love on Him like you cherish each spoon of yummy ice cream while cozied up in your favorite fluffy blanket and pair of comfy pajamas.

That’s why you can’t allow premature threats to attack the very thing God is positioning you to birth.  Even if you’re facing a tough situation, just know that a miracle is on its way.  I believe in my heart that Mary couldn’t see how becoming a teenage mother would change her life and the lives of many people, but it did.  But isn’t it amazing how her being opened to receiving God’s call catapulted her into becoming a catalyst for change?  Her “YES” changed the scope of Christianity.

Like Mary, you must understand that you’re blessed beyond measures.  No matter the intensity of the crucifixion.  For Luke 1:37 (KJV) reminds you that “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Yes, you may feel as if you’re under a spiritual attack, nothing is going your way, or Jesus doesn’t love you.  But in all honesty, have you ever taken a minute and pressed pause?  Then ask God, “What would you have me to do?  How do you want me to position myself in the kingdom?  What’s your purpose for my life?” Because at the end of the day, you must remember that God is your rock and that all plans start and end with Him.  That’s why it’s important that you intentionally decree and declare that “God’s getting ready to turn your situation around and you’re going to Outlast the Pain!”  It’s not by accident you found yourself in this season of struggle faced with opposition.  God has you right where He wants you—in the cradle of a major spiritual storm.

You serve a mighty God who is full of grace and goodness.   As you wait for the move of God, trust that He is providing the resources and direction for your sudden breakthrough.  Yes!  You, completely surrendering to God is a work in progress.  That’s why you must Outlast the Pain as a woman of faith.  This is not the season to let test anxiety get the best of you because you think you don’t qualify or need God’s help.  As a matter of fact, the spirits of fear and pride can trick you into believing that you can figure out your situation without the prompting or supervision of the Holy Spirit.   Starting right now, believe that God is redefining your life’s script filling it with life-altering opportunities that will extremely change the course of your destiny.  This is your season of abundance and transformation.  It’s about launching you into the new causing an earthshattering shift where you leave behind negative thoughts or actions where you no longer feel like you’re dangling from a cliff waiting to freefall.  Take time and faithfully open your heart trusting God’s plan for your life.  Even at your weakest moment, it’s your job to believe that “God’s grace is sufficient, for your power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Point.  Blank.  Period.

Now is the time where purpose sweetly collides with the prodding of the Holy Spirit opening a door to the full emergence of God’s kingdom truths and promises.  I want you to take a minute.  Self-reflect.  Then, honestly respond with the first thought that comes to mind as you answer these life-changing sentence starters.

When I’m confused about what God is calling me to do, I look to…first.

I am afraid to invest in myself because…

In my desperate attempt to find my true God-identity, I’ve done…

I have a hard time modeling Jesus because…

The first time my heart was truly broken, and I was test by the Holy Spirit, I truly felt…which opened the painful door to…

I am no longer that girl/woman who…

I so want a spiritual breakthrough in these three areas:

Today, I’ve decided to celebrate me because…

Fear will no longer win.  Today, I choose to let go of…

My last spiritual test altered the course of my life by…

I am special to God because…

You must remember that God is in control and He is the only why who can purposefully explain the importance of each circumstance that’s happened in your life.  And because He is infinite in wisdom and might, you are well taking care of my sister.  But God caring for you doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t have to put in some deep cleaning—work.  Remember, whatever God has purposed you to do, it will require some forethought and helpfulness on your end.  And sometimes, helpfulness can mean giving up something or someone.  Yes.  Can’t relinquishment be viewed as a spiritual test, too?

I don’t know about you, but sometime I like to look at life as if I’m viewing it through a camera for the first time.  And I want to recommend that you do the same as I have faith that you’re going to Outlast the Pain as you birth your miracle.  If you can help yourself, try not to waste a good shoot—test.  Capture as many fond memories as possible.  And for goodness sake, save the negatives! You never know when you’ll need to revisit a fond memory as a guide or a form of proof that you’re an overcomer and that’s one examine you don’t need to revist along your journey.  Amen.
